Trump-Epstein live: Marjorie Taylor Greene says she fears for her safety from ‘radicalized’ MAGA fans after president dubbed her ‘traitor’

President Trump defended his tariffs on Friday, even as the White House announced it was rolling back levies on coffee, tropical fruit, spices, beef and other foodstuffs in part to bring down elevated prices.

“We’ve all suffered from the Biden prices, which were much higher than they are right now, but I’ll be able get them down even lower, at least a little bit lower, possibly, in some cases, a lot lower,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One, before falsely claiming the U.S. currently has “virtually no inflation.”

The White House earlier Friday said the tariff reversal followed “substantial progress” in trade negotiations with foreign nations, while reflecting “current domestic demand for certain products, and current domestic capacity to produce certain products.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene warned her Republican colleagues that voting “no” to compel the administration to release the remainder of the Epstein files could hurt them.

“You vote NO on Tuesday to release the Epstein files and face severe outrage from America,” Greene wrote in response to a post from Rep. Troy Nehls, who said he would not vote with Democrats to force the release.

“Republicans don’t have support from women and this right here is a perfect example of why.”

Nehls’s announcement was flooded with replies from people upset about his decision to vote ‘no.’

A group of leaders in North Carolina warned residents of incoming Border Patrol agents, who are expected to begin conducting immigration raids akin to those in other cities, and denounced them for “causing unnecessary fear.”

Vi Lyes, the mayor of Charlotte, Mark Jerrell, the chair of the Mecklenburg County board of commissioners, and Stephanie Sneed, the chair of the Mecklenburg County board of education, issued a joint statement asking citizens to use their voices peacefully and call local authorities if needed.

“The expected U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (commonly called ‘Border Patrol’) operations are causing unnecessary fear and uncertainty in our community as recent operations in other cities have resulted in people without criminal records being detained and violent protests being the result of unwarranted actions,” the group wrote.

“We stand with all residents who simply want to go about their lives, contributing to our larger community.”

Homeland Security’s immigration operations in Charlotte, North Carolina, have begun, a department spokesperson confirmed Saturday.

“We are surging DHS law enforcement to Charlotte to ensure Americans are safe and public safety threats are removed,” spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said.

“There have been too many victims of criminal illegal aliens, and President Trump and Secretary Noem will step up to protect Americans when sanctuary politicians won’t.”

The Kentucky representative announced on Nov. 3 that he remarried last month following the sudden death of his first wife of 31 years, Rhonda, in June 2024.

Greene has become the fixture of Trump’s ire recently as she’s continuously broken with the president on the Epstein files

But he also received separate charges of possession of an unregistered firearm in Kentucky – which were brought after law enforcement officials investigating his role in January 6 executed a search warrant on Wilson’s home.

A White House official said in a statement that Trump chose to pardon Wilson again because “the search of Mr. Wilson’s home was due to the events of January 6.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene said she had received security threats after Trump called her a “traitor” on social media for pushing to have the White House release the remainder of the Epstein files.

“I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world,” Greene said.

“The man I supported and helped get elected,” she added.

Greene said it was “completely shocking” to receive threats from Trump’s “radical internet trolls,” given her record of supporting the president. She accused many of the internet trolls of being “paid” – though she did not elaborate about who she believes is paying them.

“I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel,” Greene added.

Jeffrey Epstein was texting with a Democratic lawmaker before she questioned President Donald Trump’s former fixer, Michael Cohen, during a 2019 hearing and advised what questions she should ask, according to a report.

Stacey Plaskett, the U.S. Virgin Islands non-voting delegate, appeared to be messaging with the late disgraced financier in February 2019 while the hearing into Trump was ongoing and asked Epstein for guidance in one message, the Washington Post reports. Her office confirmed to the paper that she had received texts from Epstein.

The messages were included in the tranche of 20,000 documents released by the House Oversight Committee this week, though her name is redacted in the documents.
