It’s no surprise that things can shift in a big way when adding a new addition to the family. While human parents are mostly aware of what comes with bringing home a new baby, their pet siblings may be woefully unprepared for the changes.

Two cats are really going through the newborn trenches as they adjust to having a little one in the house. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the expressions on these cats’ faces could fill a novel. Seriously, these feline faces say everything, and if you’ve ever dealt with a crying baby, you know exactly how they feel.

These cats are over it! Truthfully, who could blame them? Just imagine these cats living in peace with their humans. Then, one day a very loud new kid enters the picture disrupting the vibe of the whole house. Poor kitties!

Their human parent (@toribordelon) wrote in the caption, “Even the cats are wondering if they’ll ever have peace and quiet ever again.” So everyone is adjusting to the new normal, and they’re all on the baby’s time now.

While the cats’ faces when the baby cries may say they’ve had enough, you can tell they already adore their tiny human. In the video, you can see both of them laying near the baby. Clearly, they want to be around the baby despite the healthy wails they may hear at any moment.

On one side of the sofa, the video zooms in on one cat giving his best “are you done yet” look as the baby screams. As it continues, there’s a close-up shot of the other cat who looks pretty worn out. You see this fluffy kitty giving side-eye as more sobs are heard. I’m guessing neither one of these kitties has learned to sleep when the baby sleeps yet!

Commenters are having too much fun trying to guess what these two are thinking during these first months with baby. @yinanyangthang came up with a whole inner monologue and joked, “Day 47: The small loud creature has not ceased. I fear peace was only a dream. The hairless hatchling’s war cry begins at dawn…” Honestly, someone should write a children’s book based on these two cats.

Those first few months with a crying newborn aren’t easy for anyone. Even though these cats may be a little annoyed, they’re hanging in there, and that’s what counts. Pretty soon, the baby will calm down, and they’ll probably be inseparable.
