Almost everyone scrolling through social media pauses to watch videos of adorable baby animals. But when we saw this video of a tiny baby bunny, it instantly became our favorite of the week.

Amanda’s Exotic Animals shared the video on TikTok recently, and though she’s used to seeing unusual pets, even she says that she can’t believe it’s real. The little one is tiny – he fits in the palm of her hand – and absolutely adorable!

Swoon! Where do we get one? Commenter CiCi felt the same way after watching Amanda’s video and shared, “I want it cuz it’s just so perfect and cute!” We can’t get over how tiny the baby bunny is!

And we couldn’t agree more with @Suzanne Witt Foley, who said, “Great video to start the day!”

All About Baby Bunnies

I realized that I didn’t know much about baby bunnies, even though my kids have a pet rabbit of their own. A baby rabbit is called a kitten, while a female is called a doe and a male is called a buck.

Kitfens nurse from their mom until their about 8 weeks old. Once their eyes open, they can begin to eat solid foods like rabbit pellets and some grasses and hay. But here’s a weird fact about baby bunnies: they eat poop.

WikiHow explains, “Cecotropes are a special kind of rabbit feces that contain beneficial bacteria for their digestive system and are re-consumed to stabilize their gut flora. Baby rabbits experience a lot of GI changes around 3 weeks old; this is when they experiment with solid food, their stomachs become more acidic, and they require cecotropes from their mother to establish good gut health.”

But if having a pet rabbit have babies so you can hold them in the palm of your hand, beware! National Geographic Kids shared, “Rabbits are very effective baby-makers! Mother rabbits are pregnant for between 28-31 days, giving birth to up to 14 baby rabbits – called kittens – in a single litter.” That’s a lot of babies to take care of!
