The Power of the Turkic Nation’s November 8 Victory Day: A Golden Page of History

November 8 Victory Day is the symbol of one of the brightest triumphs in Azerbaijan’s history. Today, it represents not only military superiority but also the will, unity, and strength of a nation. The liberation of Karabakh from occupation—the replacing of a pain carried in hearts for many years with victory—is the triumph of the national spirit of the Azerbaijani people, forged over centuries.
One of the architects of this historic victory is the firm foundation laid years ago by National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The strategic line of a “strong state, strong army” played a decisive role in rebuilding the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, strengthening national ideology, and instilling a spirit of patriotism in the younger generation. Heydar Aliyev’s political legacy later became a sustainable roadmap for the development of independent Azerbaijan.

As a continuation of this path, the determination, strategy, and leadership of President Ilham Aliyev became one of the key factors in the victory of the 44-day Patriotic War. His military-political decisions, diplomatic agility, and special attention to the army opened a new page in Azerbaijan’s history. President Ilham Aliyev’s “Iron Fist” unity represented the will of the entire Azerbaijani nation and utterly shattered the enemy’s longstanding policy of occupation.

The most sacred part of this victory is the heroism of our martyrs. They sacrificed their lives for the homeland and raised the flag of freedom, rights, and justice. Each of our martyrs is a living monument to Azerbaijan’s honorable history.

Their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

The support of Turkey, Azerbaijan’s brother, also holds a special place in the joy of victory.

The principle of “One nation, two states” manifested itself during the days of the Patriotic War not only in words but also in practical solidarity. Turkey’s political, moral, and diplomatic support strengthened the Azerbaijani people and once again proved the unshakable nature of our brotherhood. This unity has become one of the most striking examples of the strength and solidarity of the Turkic world.

Today, November 8 Victory Day is not only a day of remembrance for the past but also a day of renewed faith in the future, a revitalization of the national spirit, and the strengthening of unity.

With this victory, Azerbaijan not only liberated its lands but also demonstrated its political, military, and moral strength to the entire world.

May this victory live forever, may the souls of our martyrs rest in peace, and may the brotherhood of Azerbaijan and Turkey endure for eternity.
