President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump visited Central Texas Friday, a week after it was devastated by flash flooding.

At least 121 people have died from the floods, and more than 160 are still missing.

Trump admin sues California over egg prices

The Trump administration is suing the state of California to block animal welfare laws that it says unconstitutionally helped send egg prices soaring. But a group that spearheaded the requirements pushed back, blaming bird flu for the hit to consumers’ pocketbooks.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court in California on Wednesday, challenges voter initiatives that passed in 2018 and 2008. They require that all eggs sold in California come from cage-free hens.

Death toll in Kerr County rises to 103

Texas officials announced 103 confirmed deaths in Kerr County, which was devastated by flash flooding along the Guadalupe River on July 4.

The city of Kerrville, located in Kerr County, wrote on Facebook Thursday, “Victim recovery operations continue and additional resources from local, state and federal partners continue to deploy to Kerr County as mission efforts become more technical.

“Officials report that there have been 103 confirmed deaths (67 adults/36 children) in Kerr County.”

The death toll is up from the 96 fatalities officials previously reported:
