Snuggling Pup Has a ‘Nauseous’ Reaction When Baby Sister Kicks
For most of us, our pets were our first kids. They taught us how to love no matter what, be patient even when it’s hard, and laugh even when it seems impossible. But when the four-legged kid has to come to grips with the idea of a two-legged one, the transition can be difficult.
One TikTok pup realizes just how much of an adjustment it may be when she feels her baby sister kicking in mom’s belly for the first time. The precious pup’s face really does say it all, and it’s the funniest reaction.

See Crumble’s Reaction to Baby Sis’s Kick
Recently, @lizzy__west shared the heartwarming video of her pup Crumble cuddling her pregnant belly. The pup looks so comfortable and cozy snuggling in her mom’s lap, right up until she feels baby sis kicking.
Crumble looks startled the moment the baby kicks. It’s almost like her whole world has been shaken by the realization that something is alive and movin’ inside mom’s belly. The caption reads, “But why does she look like she’s going to be sick.”
While her mom may think she looks like she’s about to lose her kibble, we think she just looks a little uncomfortable with being kicked. Maybe baby sis hit her ear, and she didn’t like that. Though Crumble better be ready for her new little sidekick. Babies are known for pulling puppy ears, noses, and fur.

How To Introduce Your Pup to a New Baby
While it may be quite the adjustment, I think that Crumble is going to be just fine when baby sis arrives, especially if mom and dad take some time to introduce the pair slowly. I remember when we brought our daughter home, and our pup at the time, Paisley, had to adjust to a new baby in the house.
It took a little bit of time, but she quickly accepted her as little sis and a permanent member of the pack. What helped was following some expert advice on getting Paisley used to the baby, something that may, in fact, work for Crumble too. The first thing we did was introduce Paisley to our baby’s scent by giving her one of the hospital beanies. Now, according to the American Kennel Club, that’s technically not the first step.
First, you have to adjust your expectations, a la Rome wasn’t built in a day style. Try to stay calm, cool, and collected during your dog’s and babies’ interactions. Otherwise, your dog will pick up on your anxiety. Let your pup sniff the baby’s toys, bedding, and clothes before letting them sniff the baby from a distance. You can even let your pup sniff your baby through the railings of their crib.
Always reinforce good behavior with treats or a clicker, or both, depending on your previous training approach with your dog. Eventually, your dog will get used to your little one. Just remember to give your pup their own space where they can escape and feel safe, and always keep a watchful eye on all interactions.
