A slight swing to US
The last 10 minutes or so have seen a couple of errors from Europe with McIlroy wild with the iron and Fitzpatrick/Hatton missing putts.

Schauffele and Cantlay have cut the gap on Rahm and Hatton to just one though.

Rahm is booed by unsettling crowd
“Rahm is booed after backing off his birdie putt, with a bug hovering above his ball. The crowd not settling and the Spaniard forced to putt over the noise.
“It starts right and stays there, a slight misread from Rahm, but the pace was good.
“Vice-captain Snedeker is greenside for this one and there’s a grimace as Schauffele’s putt creeps past the left edge, it was a superb effort, the American fans thought it was in.
“And Hatton’s par putt misses!
“The American crowd roars, lots of applause despite the hole won by a European miss. Rahm slaps his teammate on the back, Hatton muttering to himself and gesticulating with his hands as he slips off the side of the green to the sixth tee box. Just one up to the Europeans here now.”

Fitzpatrick errs
A slight error from Matt Fitzpatrick sees him leave his par putt short on the seventh.
That’s a rare bogey and opens the door for the US which Cam Young flies through.

Silence and a tough crowd
“Hatton’s approach to 5 is half a club short, it spins an inch or two off the green into the first cut.
“Silence up here, Cantlay next and it’s better, but 20 feet for birdie, but again, a muted reaction. A tough crowd here.
“The USA need a spark, the crowd isn’t into this one just yet, a smattering of U-S-A chants as the players step up to the green.
“Schauffele and Rahm prowling and eyeing up these putts with intent.”

‘The USA are surviving here’
“The USA surviving here against ‘Team Angry,’ Schauffele with another tricky putt to halve the hole.
“The fans look concerned here with Hatton and Rahm posing a formidable test.
“So much blue on the board and this one could unravel for the USA.
“There is a camera in Keegan Bradley’s buggy, on the dash board, all the emotions of a Ryder Cup on the line.”

Fleetwood Mac flying!
It’s four birdies in a row for Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy now!
McIlroy does the job with the putter this time and celebrates with a smile and a nod to his partner.

Even contests
Today’s matches seem closer in quality. The Americans have upped their game and are matching Europe blow for blow.
Collin Morikawa makes his approach to the fifth and lands it 20ft or so from hole, Fleetwood follows and finishes just inside him.
Up on the sixth, Fitzpatrick guides a birdie just past and settles for par.
Dechambeau knocks in a par putt of his own to keep the match level.

Top class!
Tyrell Hatton looks to maintain Europe’s 2UP lead over on the third and laces in an eight-foot putt for birdie to pile on some pressure.
Xander Schauffele had hit his approach in closer so Patrick Cantlay has an easier putt for birdie.
This one drops as well! It’s a halve with both pairs making twos on the par-3.
