Any psychologist will tell you that in early childhood, older siblings often exhibit dominant behaviors over their younger sibs.

That certainly appears to be the case with pets too, particularly with Teddy the Golden Retriever puppy and his older sister, a silver cat who is keeping him in line!

“When you can’t make eye contact with your sister because she will punch you in the face,” Teddy’s pet parent writes in an adorable TikTok clip that truly illustrates the ups and downs of sibling relationships. Take a look and have a laugh at the pup’s epic side-eye.

Experts note that this dynamic is often a natural part of the sibling relationship, and hopefully for Teddy, there will be a shift towards a more equitable power dynamic as he and his sister mature.

But for the time being, Teddy seems to be falling into line, not considering for one moment the idea of looking his sister in the eye!

Poor sweet Teddy! His sister is all business. Though we can’t see this kitty’s face, based on the fear in Teddy’s eyes, we wouldn’t mess with her either.

“The cat’s little chubby neck roll nearly took me out,” wrote a viewer. “Her ears say it all.”

In fact, that cat is reminding me of a marine drill instructor! Don’t do anything to ruffle her feathers, or in this case, her sleek silver fur, Teddy!

“This older sister-younger brother dynamic spans across all species, I’m afraid,” noted a fan on TikTok. “I one-hundred percent believe she was about to throw paws,” said another.

Of course, Teddy has good reason to believe he might get smacked based on the strong right hook his sister has shown in the pair’s previous escapades. Take a look at this montage of their past minor squabbles and skirmishes.

Though Teddy has every right to be wary, it really looks more like his sister cat is giving him gentle high-fives or simply playing. Still, stay on your toes, little guy! Cat behavior can be, umm, erratic.

In the end, there’s really nothing to be concerned about, Teddy. A few months from now you’ll likely dwarf your sister and this fearful feelings will all be a distance memory. We think they’ll be fast friends in no time!
