There are countless reasons Golden Retrievers are one of the most popular dogs. Their friendliness and good-natured spirit make them a pleasure to be around, and their outgoing personalities make them a hit with just about everyone they meet. Not to mention, they’re also first-class comedians, often finding a way to get themselves into a predicament they can’t get out of.

A perfect example is this adorable Golden Retriever who hopped into the tub, even though it wasn’t bath time. But it’s his confusion over how to get himself out that will leave you in stitches.

Sometimes I think dogs do things just to make us laugh, and this is definitely one of those times. Though Bowie had no problem hopping in, getting out left him completely baffled. When his mom called him a big baby, this Golden Retriever’s backtalk was much like a human child insisting they’re a big kid.

Perhaps, as his mom describes, he feared the embarrassment that gravity might inflict should he take a flop while reaching the other side of the bathtub. After all, when you’re this handsome, you have a reputation to uphold, and he can’t let the fans know he’s not always full of swagger. Still, this good boy would be just as charming, even if the forces of nature caused him to fumble.

This Golden’s antics had everyone cracking up. Viewer @simmusimmiduary joked, “Bowie’s like, is this lady out of her mind?” Viewer @wyse_adele remarked, “The ‘halp’ made my day!” Mine too! And @wagginwes quipped, “Legend says he’s still in the tub.”

Fortunately, he finally made it out of the tub and had an adorable snuggle session, as seen in this sweet video from June 16:

Golden Retrievers like Bowie are famously intelligent, emotionally attuned, and eager to please. They also have an uncanny ability to bring laughter and comfort in equal measure, traits that make them incredible companions.
