Giving birth is so scary and exciting at the same time, according to everyone who’s ever done it. While you’re obviously excited to bring home your new baby and start your life together, there’s still a little fear in there somewhere. That’s why expectant mothers curate who’s going to be in their hospital rooms to a T.

On Sunday, July 27th, one Ragdoll cat proved that it’s not just humans who need support when it’s time to have their babies. When she was in labor with her kittens, she begged her human mama to stay like the sweetest little kitty ever:

Pearl’s Ragdolls are very well loved, and they feel very safe with Pearl, that’s for sure. She must feel so lucky that they want to have her around in their most vulnerable moments!

The Ragdoll in this video is Lovey, who’s been pregnant for a while. She had 7 whole kittens in there, and it was certainly a challenge to get through birthing all of them! However, with support from her mama, she was able to do it with no issues.

Every kitten is happy and healthy, though they’re still very fresh. Since they’re only a few days old, they haven’t even opened their eyes yet. Lovey is doing a great job keeping them all safe, and Pearl is making sure to give her whatever support she wants in the aftermath of birthing 7 entire creatures.

There’s another pregnant kitty among them, and she’s looking ready to pop any day now:

After a cat gives birth, it’s not at all unusual for her to want to be left alone with her kittens. She might not want to be touched, and she almost certainly won’t want anyone touching the babies.

As a precaution, you should always approach their pen/box slowly, and if you have to touch the babies, keep them where she can see them. Otherwise, they might become stressed or even aggressive: two things you do not want a new mother to be!

Luckily, Pearl knows what she’s doing. Lovey and every other cat in that home knows their kittens are safe with her!
