Here Are The Latest Updates On Food Network Star Anne Burrell’s Tragic Death At Age 55

On Tuesday, the sad news broke that beloved chef and Food Network star Anne Burrell had died at age 55.

While Anne’s cause of death is still unknown, it has now been reported that she was found “unconscious and unresponsive” at the scene.

Per People, the New York City Police Department said that officers from the 76th Precinct responded to “an unconscious and unresponsive 55-year-old female” at around 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday. Emergency services are said to have “responded and pronounced her deceased on scene.”

Just last week, Anne had excitedly told her 688k Instagram followers that after recently starting improv classes in New York, her group’s first show will be taking place on Monday, June. 16.

Sharing a photo of herself with some classmates outside of the theater, Anne wrote: “Sooooooo… as I have mentioned I have been taking Improv classes @thesecondcitytc and having an ABSOLUTE blast!!! My class and I are coming to the end of this term and we get to do an actual show!!! If anyone is interested in stopping by on Monday June 16 at 9 pm @thesecondcity in Brooklyn please feel free!! We are a small but SUPER fun bunch!! #ilovewhatido #luckygirl”
In the late hours of Tuesday night, Anne’s co-star Jane Margolis confirmed that Anne had attended the Monday night show as planned. Reposting a tribute to Anne to her Instagram story, Jane wrote: “spent last night enjoying anne’s cooking and doing an improv show together. still in shock but so glad I got to know you.”
Anne’s final Instagram post was uploaded just five days ago, with the chef sharing a smiling selfie as she expressed her excitement at bumping into the Green Lady of Brooklyn — a local celebrity known for her green hair and clothing.
She captioned the happy post: “I ran into @greenladyofbrooklyn in my neighborhood today!! I’m not going to lie- I have been keeping an eye out for her. I may or may not have followed her down the street for a minute. She is just lovely!!! #ilovewhatido #luckygirl 💚💚💚”
Anne was best known for being the host of Food Network’s iconic Worst Cooks in America series, which aired for almost 30 seasons.
