Concerned Bulldog Hears Baby Cry for First Time and Instantly Goes Into ‘Hero’ Mode

Dogs often have adorable reactions to infants. Our fur babies are intrigued by human babies and show their curiosity in very cute ways. Whether it’s a confused look on their face, a gentle nudge or a perplexed whine, our pooches express their sensitivity toward the many emotions of babies.

Gary the Bulldog was quite troubled when he heard an infant crying and was surprised when no one shared his concern.

In the TikTok from @garythebulldog2, Gary was standing next to a baby carriage when he heard the infant begin to cry. The Bulldog turned to his mom with a very distressed look on his face.

“It’s ok,” she told him. “It’s the baby, Gary — that’s the thing that we’ve been holding.”

The questioning canine wasn’t consoled by the response and inspected the carriage again. When the infant continued to cry, Gary took the situation into his own paws and climbed onto the carriage in the hopes of resolving the issue.

The persistent pooch’s mom immediately got him down from the carriage, but Gary was undeterred. He jumped up again, surely out of sheer concern for the baby, though his mom put the kibosh on his efforts for the second time.

Once the baby was out of the carriage, Gary just stared at the little one with worry on his face.

“Gary looks absolutely horrified,” his mom remarked.

Gary Met the Baby Face to Face

The video concluded with the baby sitting on his mom’s lap, giving Gary a chance to get a better look. The Bulldog gently sniffed the infant, almost as if he knew how fragile the baby was and that he had to be very careful. You could almost see Gary’s relief as he realized the infant was just fine.

The very last scene showed Gary fully underneath the carriage, like he was protecting the precious cargo.

Gary appeared to genuinely want to lend a paw to comfort the infant as he cried. The compassionate canine may be a nanny in training.
