Baby Elephant Trying to Hug His Caretaker Is Absolutely Too Cute to Resist

Baby Elephant Trying to Hug His Caretaker Is Absolutely Too Cute to Resist originally appeared on PetHelpful.
Imagine being so adored by a baby elephant that it wants to snuggle with you. Wildlife Rescuers shared a video of a lucky caretaker who was being smothered with love by a baby elephant, and it’s the cutest thing you’ll see today.
What makes the baby’s charm even cuter is that he has no idea how big and strong he really is compared to his human! The baby wants to crawl right into the man’s lap, but he’s much too heavy for that! Watch on to see how hard the baby elephant tries to snuggle up with his favorite human; it will make your day!
Where can we go to get cuddles like that from a baby elephant!? Wildlife Rescuers’ explained in the video’s caption, “In their minds, they’re still small and playful—just like a puppy. So when they interact with their human caretakers, they may lean, push, or play a little too hard without meaning to. What feels gentle to them can be quite a lot of pressure for a person! It’s all part of their sweet but clumsy way of showing affection.”
Commenters had some pretty funny things to say about the video. @Invasion27 pointed out, “Just imagine this is happening to you with a baby elephant and you can’t get up and you just see an 11,000-pound adult elephant start walking towards you…”
Commenter @not echidna joked, “Snuggled to death by a baby elephant.” @Kimster713 added, “To die mauled by a baby elephant…”

How Much Does a Baby Elephant Weigh?
After watching this adorable baby elephant try to cuddle up, we wondered how much the little guy weighs. A to Z Animals had the answer, “Baby elephants weigh around 200 pounds at birth and over the next 20 years grow to be 8,000 -15,000 pounds! Depending on the kind and gender of elephant, babies can start out as “little” as 150 pounds or be as big as 360 pounds.”
Of all animals, elephants have the longest gestation period during their pregnancies. Moms can be pregnant for 18 to 22 weeks before their little one is born. Because baby elephants are so large, their fetal development is slow, so they need a lot more time to develop.
Talk about having a big baby!
