5-Year Old Boy and Goat Ignore Competition Results and Melt Hearts in Viral Moment

5-Year Old Boy and Goat Ignore Competition Results and Melt Hearts in Viral Moment originally appeared on PetHelpful.
In Texas, 5-year-old Milo Garza provided everyone with the cutest moment ever following his fourth place win in a goat competition. Milo had stepped in at the last minute when his older brother was supposed to compete. No training, no pep talk. Just a kid, a goat, and the unshakable confidence of someone who doesn’t yet know what ‘fourth place’ even means.
When the ribbons were handed out, Milo got yellow. For most people, that’s the polite way of saying ‘Thanks for showing up.’ Most people would take their ribbon, force a smile, then quietly stew. Not Milo!
He stared at his yellow ribbon in disbelief, crouched down, hugged Teddy Bear like the goat had just carried him out of a burning building, and kissed him like they’d just won the Olympic gold. It’s so adorable. Take a look!
Seems like little Milo just loves goats. Caring for them, feeding them, winning fourth place with them–he doesn’t care. What a sweet little guy!
Viewers were so touched by his reaction. Tara said, ‘What I find the best of this whole story is this boy placed fourth, and while he could have been disappointed by it, he was SO HAPPY, and he showed love and appreciation for his goat.’ Another viewer said that ‘This child deserves all the good things in life. Bless him.’ Congratulations to the parents for raising such a kind, sweet child.
Cultivating Compassion in Children

When children learn early on to treat animals with kindness and compassion, they possess the essential skills they’ll need later on to treat all people with the same respect. Caring for an animal may also lead to reduced aggression, better relationships, and a better overall quality of life.

Videos like this one are becoming popular because, deep down, we all want to be Milo at that moment. Choosing our own scoreboard, kissing our weird little best friend, and ignoring the polite fiction of ‘placing.’ Fourth place is nothing. Fourth place is everything. Depends on who you ask. And who really cares? Did you watch the video? LOL.
For Milo and Teddy Bear, the yellow ribbon is probably already lost somewhere under a pile of toys. The hug, though? That’s the win they’ll remember.
